Batman Bento

This post was made before the tragedy in Colorado.  My heart goes out to all of the families dealing with such a senseless act.  May they be able to find some peace.

Have you heard about the new movie out this week.  BATMAN!  OK, OK, so my kids are too young to go watch the movie in theaters but Mom and Dad are not.  We are very excited to go check it out.  You know, when there is no ball game, lessons, work, and a babysitter is available.  I will keep my fingers crossed that I get to see it before I have to wait for it to come out on Netflix.  Today's lunch is inspired by the movie The Dark Night Rises.

I am not a bat, (bats can't take pictures of lunches and blog about it) but if I was one, I assume I would like things dark so I accompanied my bat sandwich with dark blueberries, and blueberry yogurt covered pretzels.  How yummy do blueberry yogurt covered pretzels sound?  I just discovered them.  They are delicious!  A little cheese star and moon are above the treetops (broccoli).

This is what I used to make this lunch:

  2. This may seem like a silly question but what kid of cheese do you use to cut out the fun shapes? Is it just the pre-sliced cheese or do you use block cheese? Thanks! :)

    1. Not silly at all :) I use both kinds. Most cheeses punch out very easily. Use whatever you have on hand. Have fun!
